Alan Gassman is an attorney, author, and speaker in the areas of estate planning and tax law.

He is the founder of Gassman, Crotty, & Denicolo, PA, an estate planning law firm based in Tampa Bay, Florida that specializes in personal and corporate planning for physicians.

Mr. Gassman is the author and co-author of a number of books on estate planning, taxation, and creditor protection, including:

  • Bloomberg BNA's Estate Tax Planning in 2011 and 2012 (co-author with Kenneth Crotty and Christopher Denicolo)
  • The Legal Guide to NFA Firearms and Gun Trusts (co-author with Sean P. Haley and Jonathan Blattmachr)
  • Eight Steps to a Proper Florida Trust and Estate Plan
  • The Florida Legal Guide for Same Sex Couples (co-author with Danielle Creech and Kristen O. Sweeney)
  • A Practical Guide to Anti-Kickback and Self-Referral Laws for Physicians (co-author with Lester J. Perling)
  • The Annihilation of Wealth 2013 (co-author with Erica Good Pless)

His book The Annihilation of Wealth 2013 was featured in Forbes, and his work with physicians is discussed in Physician's Practice Digest and Medical Economics.

Mr. Gassman writes a regular blog called "The Thursday Report." He also contributes to Stephan Leimberg's LISI Newsletter, and has written for Medical Economics, Trusts & Estates, and the Florida Bar Journal. He is a speaker for Bloomberg BNA.

Mr Gassman serves on the boards of the Ave Maria School of Law Estate Planning Conference and the Notre Dame Tax and Estate Planning Institute, where he is also a speaker.

After graduating from Rollins College in 1982, Mr. Gassman received his law degree from the University of Florida in 1982, as well as an LL.M. in taxation from the University of Florida in 1983.

Alan Gassman currently lives with his wife Marcia in Clearwater, Florida.
